ERROR CODE 2000-01 42

HELLO MY DELL INSPIRON 15R 5520 DISPLAYS ERROR CODE 2000-01 42 VALIDATION 114594 MSG: HARD DRIVE 0-S/W WXQ1E82ENZZ1, SHORT SELF TEST UNSUCCESSFUL IN ePSA DIAGONISTICS BUT MY SYSTEM IS RUNNING ALL WELL i.e BOOTS WELL, RUNNING OK I HAVE WINDOWS 7 HOME PREMIUM INSTALLED KINDLY REPLY

The error code 0142 indicates that the hard drive has gone bad and needs to be replaced.
 
You could first try to reset the hard drive and see if this makes a difference, no difference, then replace the drive.
 
If there is a Dell warranty in effect, contact Dell's Technical Support for the replacement HD.

Hello! I have a issue on my laptop anyone know this issue please help!

My dell Dell Inspiron n5050 having a issue when i press power on button it shows the dell icon and loading win8 also displayed but after that display blank screen with beep sound,I ran dell diagnostics, and it stopped with this error code:

** Hard drive 0 - dst short test**
Test results : fail
Error code 2000-01 42
Validation 14321
Msg: hard drive 0 - s/n S2W1BA6Z, self text unsuccessful. Status = 7

See above.  You need a new 2.5" 9.5 or 7 mm SATA notebook drive.  Yours has failed.
