External Hard Drive Permissions

Is there a way to set the permissions for a directory (folder) on my external hard drive? I have a laptop and would like to be able to set permissions just like on my internal hard drive to read/write/execute based who is logged into the computer. Is this possible? I use the drive to backup data and do not want guest users (logged in on guest account) to be able to see or modify my backup files. Thanks.

It is possible with XP Pro - not easily done with Home.

I have Home edition. Can you please post some instructions on how to implement this feature? Thanks.

You'll need some sort of third-party utility for locking files under Home - you do not have the option of using the full set of Windows permissions that XP Pro supports.
