After I have the replacement drive, how do I rebuild the raid 1?

If under warranty, call Dell for the replacement.

As this is a warranty replacement, you could call Dell and have a Techie talk you thougth it.

or use the following procedures,

First install SATA drive,
Then after boot up, open "Control Panel"
Click "Intel Application Accelerator" or "Intel Storage Utility".
Click the "Actions" tab.
Choose option to migrate to RAID 1, select SATA port ? as the source drive.
Give the RAID a volume and type.
Set the drive to add to the array will be the SATA port ? you installed the new drive on.
Migration should take about 30 to 60 minutes.

I will be running Linux. Is there a way to add the new drive
via the BIOS.

Then you should post in the "Software - Linux (non-Dell installed)" board,
