HP OfficeJet R80xi Scanner Problems on an OptiPlex GX270

Well, title sums it up pretty much. I have an HP OfficeJet R80xi that will not scan for me. It will print just fine, I have it set up on the LPT1 port, which is set up according to HP's specifications. I printed out a test page and it worked fine, here is the information it provided incase this is helpful at all...

Port Name: LPT1
Data Format: RAW
Driver Name: UNIDRV.DLL
Data File: HPMOJR8I.GPD
Config File: UNIDRVUI.DLL
Help File: UNIDRV.HLP
Driver Version: 5.00
Environment: Windows NT x86

When I hit the Scan button on my OfficeJet it just says Cannot Connect to PC. See Customer Care Guide.

Any ideas on what this might be? I have not called Dell tech support yet since I do not have a cordless phone available where the Dell and Printer are. Tomorrow I will try from a cell and see. Thanks in Advance. Feel free to request any additional information.

There is software on the HP CD that has to be installed so that the scanner buttons on the scanner function. This is seperate of the print drivers.

Can you initiate a scan from the computer and does it scan ?

I got it too work, it was just ignorance on my part. I was thinking that the scan button would open up the software but on XP is does not (atleast not for me) so all I had to do was run the microsoft scanning program and it works fine.
