Hard Drive crashed when battery dropped out
Hi all
lost power on Latidude D820 XP Pro SP2 when running several processes,.at restart Safe Mode get BSOD that Boot Partition not Mountable
Have 61 days of on site warranty left, my question is - assuming HDD is dead and Dell replace HD, will new have an operating system on it and if so what?
Have tried other boot options and Diagnostics Express Test which incidentally did not report any problem with HDD

Hi, Anorak:
If the hard drive checks out, then this would appear to be an OS issue. Are you getting an "unmountable boot volume" error? If so, you may want to look at this article.
