Hello need help my cd/dvd rom will not read nothing
i bought this dell inspiration laptop dec 08 and i went to use the cd/dvd rom and it will not read not disc's like they are not even in there. i do not know much about comps but i feel i am missing drive hardware or what not can anyone help me. see what i need to do to get it to work i can't use any disc and there is no tab to run it if i do put one in. when i got it i could watch movies too and it will not even pick that up PLEASE help.
do i need to down load something or what could it be anything will help i am clueless

In the CD/DVD FAQ at the top of this forum are a couple articles I want you to refer to. First, follow the instructions for running the Dell diagnostics. That will tell us if there is a hardware problem with the drive. The test needs a CD in the drive to run. If you get any errors, let me know.
If all tests pass, then try the article under "code 39 error". Follow the steps carefully and that should restore your drive's ability to read discs.
