How do I get rid of Pop-ups? Please Help

Using Windows 98. Keep getting Microsoft Internet Explorer pop-ups. Already did the SpyBot check, but some pop ups keep coming up. Is their something I can 'disable' to stop these pop ups? THANKS!!!!!
