Intel SSD 600p not detected by Dell Inspiron 3650 i7 Win 10

Just bought a new Dell i7 box and want to swap out the harddisk with 600P M.2 256G SSD. Bought a M.2 to SATA adaptor. Problem is the Bios on Dell cannot detect the 600P drive using SATA interface. Searched a bit on the web. There are discussion about 600p is NVMe drive. And some other talk about UEFI Bios support. Want to ask:

Can 600p be used with a SATA adaptor for SATA 3 interface on a Dell inspiron 3650 box? Anything to do with the NVMe nature?

If your M.2 adapter supports SATA, then that drive is not going to work.  It MAY work with a SATA M.2 drive, but even that isn't guaranteed -- it really depends on the adapter.

You'd be better off using a native 2.5" SATA SSD.
