I have an older Dell Dimension E510. I have lost the ability to access the DVD/CD drive which came with my system. I would like to update/repair/replace the software drivers, but am unable to locate a source for them. The drive is a "Philips DVD + RW DVD8701". I contacted Philips, but they advise that this is an "OEM" drive and that I had to contact the system provider. I have searched the Dell support site (i.e. Driver Home) but am unable to find drivers for this DVD.
I have an E510. What is the status of the drive in the Device Manager? Does it show an error code? or does it show "working properly"?
