Problème disque dur externe ne marche pas
Bonjour,

Hi Arshes,
Would you please tell me the operating system of your Dell? Have you tried a different USB port in your laptop?
Please go to disk management and tell me if your external hard drive appears there. It may not have a dirve letter assigned to it.

In device manager, where you see "unknown device", is there an error, such as "code 10"? If so, try the suggestions in this article.

Same thing for window update

Let's try this. Unplug the external hard drive. If the error is still present in device manager, uninstall the device. Reboot.
Install this driver for your USB 3.0 controller. Reboot, then try installing the external drive again.

Some of these portable drives have problems with power from the USB port. The solution is to use a USB "Y" cable that allows the device to draw power from two ports.
Apart from that, I'm sorry but I have no more ideas. Please contact Toshiba tech support for more help.

Hello All,
I have a Toshiba Satelite pro laptop, and the same external disk as Arshes (Toshiba STOR.E CANVIO 3.0), but all works well, I don't have any problem. So it seems it is incompatibility problem between the Dell PC and the Toshiba externar hard disk.
