Re: HD

I have an XPS M1210 Laptop.  The factory installed HD is a Serial ATA 7200 RPM 100 GB drive.  Unfortunately it filled up rather quickly.  What is the largest HD that I can install in this system?  Can someone give me a link to a location where I can buy a new HD?

Thanks,

Tom

According to this review Tom, the maximum capacity drive you can fit is 160GB:

Quote:  "Our test unit also came with a dual-layer DVD writer and a 7200-rpm, 120GB hard drive; you can increase the storage to a maximum of 160GB."

As for where to get it:  Any online PC store will sell them.

But assuming you're in the USA - Newegg are your nations' favourite supplier :emotion-2:

FWIW - I can personally recommend Western Digital's Scorpio 'Black' range (as you can see from my sig), Seagate's 'Momentus' range, or Samsung's 'Spinpoint' range of drives.

Seagate drives carry a 5 year warranty of course.

Finally... if you're finding that the internal HDD is filling up quicker than you'd like, it would be an idea to get yourself an external drive, and use it for all your downloads, backups etc :emotion-55:

Somehow I was locked out of my account and it took 3 days to get help so that I could get back in.

Great info.  Much help.  Thanks!
