Region for blu-ray?

Hi, I'm hoping someone out there knows what region my blu-ray disc drive plays?

I have a XPS 17 (not sure on the exact model), UK bought. Don't know if it will only be region B or can play any region. I was only wondering because I am looking to buy a special edition box set but it is only being released in the USA.

Thanks for your time :)

Hi emunkeve,

Welcome to the Community.

You will be able to play DVDs from a different region. However there are certain limitations. I would request you to check this link which has all the required information:

support.dell.com/.../document

If you are using PowerDVD to play the DVD, you can check the region code of the disk in its configuration.

Link for CyberLink PowerDVD region code change:

www.cyberlink.com/.../regioncode.jsp

Kindly reply if the above given information was helpful.

Note that you can only change the region a few times - after five changes, the last one is permanent.

I think the region code is stored in the drive; you can buy an external drive and use that for playing Region 1 discs.
