SMART short test timed up
hi when i checked the laptop with PC checkup, it shows SMART short test timed u.
what is this? is it s problem?
i got my laptop 12 months. its Inspiron series.

If the test refers to the hard drive, it means the drive is faulty.

Usually if your running multiple virus scans or programs while running the smart on self test at the same time, it will cause it to time out or take longer than expected...Could be becasue you had a recent virus and once you clean your system and reboot, try running it again and see what happens. This should resolve the issue..if not, try running it in the bios and run a check disk and repair the disk in the bios settings ...If that doesnt work, your hard drive may be going.
