SSD AHCI driver and trim

Hi,

i have a dell latitude D430 where i put a SSD kingspec 128Go Hard drive.

all is good for the moment: hard drive appears in BIOS, i can install windows 7 pro X86.

i just want to use the ahci driver, so i start it from the windows registry but i need to put the hard drive in IDE in BIOS but i don't find the good way to do it.

There is no option in my BIOS to do it.i have the latest version of bios for my laptop (A9 bios).

so help me with this little issue please.

thank you

Hi wepland,

If you want the drive to run in AHCI mode, then it must be set to AHCI (or RAID) in the BIOS when you install Win 7.

hi osprey thank you for your attention !

it's obvious to change it in the BIOS but in my BIOS version (A9) there is no option about the hard disk to change it in AHCI or RAID

Ok, I checked and the controller for the D430 is an ATA-100 controller. So no RAID or AHCI in that system.
