Samsung PM851 SSD | is there any firmware update in 2019?

Greetings!

I have E7440 with Samsung PM851 mSATA SSD, which have a well-known problem of disk operation slow down (previously discussed in https://www.dell.com/community/Storage-Drives-Media/PM851-SSD-Slowdown-Like-SSung-s-840EVO/m-p/4534260#M331503)

Is there any firmware update from Dell to resolve this problem? Samsung does not offer it at all.

I find the update at https://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=rymd3 but it seems that it is not applicable to E7440.

Please tell me is the fix available?

I have the same problem with a bunch of these disks I want to install in refurbished laptop.

I try all possible solutions found on the web : Samsung Magician, firmware update from Dell...

Samsung Magician tell me there's no update for this drive.

Dell firmware update (I tried two different) didn't even find the drive.

Any help will be more than welcome.

Thanks !

I have one of these, which initially came from Lenovo.  I couldn't do anything with the Dell firmware tool; it didn't see anything either.  However, I did have a Thinkpad T430, and the Lenovo firmware tool (the one dated late 2018) was able to identify and update that drive after I installed it in the Thinkpad.  I don't know if this Lenovo tool would work on a Dell machine, but I would doubt it, the instructions listed a number of Lenovo machines and various SSD from multiple brands.  Also, there are PM851s out there without any OEM brand name on them.
