Should I add 256mb of ram to my dimension 8400?

I removed this 256mb ram card out of this dimension 2400, now I want to add it to my dimension 8400.

Will that work? Is it a good idea, will it even help my dimension 8400?

It will not work.

The Dimension 2400 supports DDR RAM, the Dimension 8400 supports DDR2, in fact the DDR modules will not fit into the DDR2 slots.

Okay, so I would need to get my hands on a DDR2 ram card in order to be able to fit it into my dimension 8400?

Thanks for the simple answer shesagordie!

You are welcome.

Bev.

Ps. You cannot just use any DRR2 RAM, you need to buy RAM that is compatible to with the Dimension 8400.
