Well, I went through some Sonic terribly long 'help' system :smileymad: and figured a few things out... I had to set up some folders, and basically redo the DVD with the new folder set up... I guess the folders it automatically sets up confuses the system when it tries to build the DVD... so, I also built a little at a time, saving as I went and have completed the DVD (for the 4th time) and am burning it now.
I first thought it was R/RW issue, but I was able to burn +R in a test run, so the burner's good.
I may not be making sense, but I am a teacher and have spent every night for 3 weeks doing evening computer projects and my brain is fried.
Thanks for your reply and I think I've figured it out...

hi,
Need some more information on the issue:
1. Which model of the philips ( you can locate it in device manager, click the "+" sign next to DVD/CD to fetch the information
2. Type of file being used, can you try with a data file like a word document,
3. Type of media, DVD+RW or a DVD -RW dics?
The sonic basic version does not support slide shows, which needs to be purchased.
