TSSTTcorp DVD+RW TS-L632H DVD reader/Burner

I have this DVD Writer/Burner in my Dell Vostro 1500 Laptop. I am trying to find out if there is an update for this DVD Reader/burner as when I burn or copy a disc, the audio does not  burn correctly, not clear/. Dell does not appear to have an updated app or driver for this DVD burner even though I purchased it from them. It  appears there is an update for this DVD Reader/writer on line but I have to sign up and pay for  third part software. Help Please. Thanks Ken

When you burn audio CD's, burn at the slowest available speed.  Higher speeds will cause read problems on some audio CD players.  On SATA drives 16X is usually the slowest Audio CD-R burn speed available.  On PATA drives many will burn at 8X.    I have a recording studio and burn a lot of audio CD-R's and have PATA drives that I used specifically because they will burn at 8X.

As far as a firmware update, many drives supplied by PC manufaturers (all not just Dell) are OEM models and the firmware updates for "retail" models may not apply to the OEM models.  Thus, in most cases, only use updates from Dell for Dell OEM drives.
