Hi Exm52626,

Is there an error number? Do you have a BD drive?

If you do not have a blu ray drive, then my suggestion would be to use VLC Media Player for watching DVD movies. The Cyberlink software is simply not worth the trouble for the reason you cited and a hundred more.

Ok, so this is a blu ray drive. Sorry, VLC won't play many BD movies. So you're stuck with Cyberlink. I suggest going to their forum for help with the installation.

You will not find a newer driver. Windows uses the same generic driver for all optical drives. Unless there is some sort of driver error, there's nothing else you need to do.

Sorry I was not much help.
