Uninstalling a CD device on an Inspiron 2650
My CD drive needs to be replaced, but the manual on the laptop tells me nothing on how to uninstall the old one. Nor did Dell include any instructions with the new cd drive. Sorry, this is probably really simple but I can't figure it out.
Thank you for any help on this.

sorry, make sure there is no screw holding it in which is located on the bottom of the computer,

I have a 600m but am pretty sure it would be the same. on the right side of the drive there is a rectangular button. when you push it it will stick out. simply grab and pull. make sure you click on the green arrow at the bottom of your screen to safely remove your hardware before yanking it out. it will show your cd drive...click on it and you will get a dialog box saying its safe to now remove it.
