Update check for Roxio 9 returns EMC 9.15 missing.

Recently I ordered and installed a DVD drive for my D600 Latitude laptop. The Roxio 9 software appears to work fine except that when I check for available software updates, I get a message that states the EMC 9.15 software cannot be found and I should install it. The install worked fine (no error messages) so what's the problem? Who should I pursue this with? The software is part of the support for the DVD drive, not a software product I purchased.

EMC = Easy Media Creator.

Dell's included software with DVD drives is very basic. It doesn't include EMC.
