dell inspiron 530s hard drive?

i have a dell inspiron 530s which i purchased in late 2007. the hard drive died about a year ago, but i had it replaced. my problem is, the replacement is only 80gb, which is about 220gb smaller than the original. i have two partitions on my harddrive and will probably need to add more in the future. i would like to use a 320gb hard drive or something similar, but i have no idea what type i need.

Hi Dkane95,

Your system requires a 3.5" SATA drive. If a 320GB drive was good before, then that would be a good size. Here's the installation procedure. You could either add a second drive or replace your existing drive.

The installation instructions show how the connectors fit.

Yes, the processor is upgradeable. If you search the forum, you'll see what your options are.

To install an additional hard drive in the 530s, as this is a Slim case, you will need to purchase, 4 x Dell Hard Drive Shoulder Mounting Screws, the part number is WN322 and can be purchased from Dell Spare parts @ 1-800-357-3355, M-F 7 to 7 CDT and have system's "Service Tag" handy.
