dvd drive

Hi! My Dvd drive at laptop inspiron 14 3000 Series is not working after windows 10 upgrade.

I tried to troubleshoot it and it said "windows did not detect a dvd playback device on your computer..."

Before the upgrade its still working.How am I going to fix this?

Thank you.

Hi Grasya26,

Go to control panel, select the option to show hidden devices, and locate your DVD drive. Select it and uninstall it, then reboot the computer.

Thank you. But the uninstall option is no longer available its only "scan for hardware changes" and properties.

Already did it. I manage to uninstall it and restarted the laptop. Its still not working and I had difficulty opening the dvd/cd slot. I need to restart my computer thrice before it opened.

After the Windows 10 upgrade:

1 click the Windows START button;

2. click Settings;

3. Click Update & Security;

4. Run Windows Update, to see if it will download software that does DVD-playback.

Or, read:  www.google.ca/#q=free+dvd+player+for+windows+10

for both Microsoft and non-Microsoft solutions.

Currently this hardware is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)

To fix this hardware reconnect the hardware device to the computer.
