error message during hard drive diagnostics. error code WHD20-NPC
i have dell studio 1558 laptop. i am getting following error during hard drive diagnostics.
Targeted Read Test

Error while reading sector 27644155.
Error Message: - 08/01/2014 12:21:51 PM
Error while reading sectors 27644156 through 27644219.
Error Message: - 08/01/2014 12:22:20 PM
Error while reading sectors 27645756 through 27645819.
Error Message: - 08/01/2014 12:22:22 PM
The test found 3 sector errors.
Test Finished: - 08/01/2014 12:22:23 PM
Failed (Error code: WHD20-NPC)
what should i do please help as soon as possible.

Hi Rupesh_B007,
Please make sure you have your files backed up. Those errors indicate your hard drive is failing and needs to be replaced.

is there any chance that i can repair hard drive? and approx how much time it will take to complete hard drive failure if repair is not possible?

When there are bad sectors, that is usually a sign that the drive is on the verge of failure. You cannot predict how long it will last. I've had a drive with bad sectors go bad in minutes, and I've seen a laptop with bad sectors still working after a year. This type of problem cannot be repaired. The drive must be replaced.
