my inspiron 1545 doesnt detect my ssd

Hi,

I have an inspiron 1545 and my hhd was  crashed. So i ve decided to replace it with an ssd intenso (2.5'').

After the replacement my laptop doesnt  detect the new ssd.

Tried re-seating the drive, etc, to no avail.

My ssd isnt compatible to my laptop?

what could be wrong?

More likely, the SSD is 7 mm high, while the hard drive was 9.5 -- it won't make the connection to the system board without an adapter.

The above type of adapter comes with some drives from Crucial and Samsung -- if you don't have one, you might need one.
