playing kids cd

I  have a laptop dell dimension 8500 with windows xp profesional with sp2

trying to play a kids learning cd that is compatible with xp and i am getting the following

error "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT The systeme file is not suitable is not suitable for running

ms-dos  and microsoft windows applications. choose close to terminate the application."
