secondary Hard drive problem "configuration utility"
Hello
I have just installed a Seagate 2TB on my Dell dimension E520 computer but everytime i boot up it says to "press ctrl & I" to enter the Configuration Utility".
I Have installed loads of Hard drives on PC's before but this is the first time i have come accross this. What is It and how do i use it because when i try to do anything it says ALL DATA WILL BE DELETED on the selected discs. That would be OK if it was just the new disc but i can't select a disc.
Any help would be welcome
thanks
David

Yes, so don't worry about it. Yes, it takes an extra couple seconds to boot.

Hi David,
You added a second SATA drive. The "press Ctrl-i" prompts you to enter the RAID configuration menu, which is separate from the BIOS. You'll get that every time you boot regardless whether your drives are in a RAID configuration or not, so you can just ignore it.
For the new drive, all you need to do is boot to Windows and go into disk management to partition and format the drive.
Good luck!

Cheers for that Osprey . It threw me because i have never seen it before.
So even if i go into BIos and disable RAiD the action will still appear on the boot up screen ?
