Hi,

The following actions are required to clean up a cloned ControlCenter Host/Agent (review KB emc152045 for more information).

IMPORTANT! The following actions cannot be performed on an ControlCenter Infrastructure Repository Host.

  1. Stop the Master Agent and all Sub-Agents on the Cloned Host as follows, depending on your environment and conditions:

    • For UNIX Hosts, do the following:

      1. Run ps -ef | grep [agent on the Host]
      2. Kill all ControlCenter Agent processes on the Host (mstragent and mstragent -s).

  2. Delete all .COMFILE and .lck files on the Host as follows, depending on your environment and conditions:

    • For UNIX Hosts:

      1. Delete all .COMFILE files in  /var/ECC/*.COMFILE
      2. Delete all .lck files in  /var/ECC/*.lck

   3. Right-click on the HBAs under the Host in the ControlCenter Console and Delete.

   4. Right-click the Cloned Host from the ControlCenter Console and Delete

   5. Re-Start Master Agent on the Host as follows, depending on your environment and conditions:

For UNIX Hosts run the following command: usr/ECC/exec/start_master.csh

  6. The Host should re-discover into the ControlCenter Console and its Master Agent should be Active. In some cases, it may happen that after deleting a host from the console, and restarting the Master Agent on the host, the host will not rediscover it's agents. In this condition, the agents can not be installed from the console as they are already installed on the host. Also when the agents are not discovered in the console, you cannot start/stop the agents from the Console, as they do not appear in the Console. If this occurs, connect to the host and verify the ctg.ini file in the Masteragent install folder (  %ECC_INSTALL_ROOT%/exec/MGA610/) This ctg.ini file should have an entry for each agent-type that says 'AutoStart = true'. If that is not set to 'true', the agent will not be restarted when the Master Agent starts.

Regards

Conor
