I don't believe there is currently a method for external connections to the database.
However, you can configure customized queries within SPA and export them as CSV or XML.
Located on the Administration Menu, Query Management.
I will see if I can dig up some documents or create some instructions.

We want to automate weekly and monthly reports for capacity management.
A querry of the database would be more appropriate.
