Hi Caroline,

Cluster are a Group of Server or HOSTS  where you  get your Resource Pool.  its like aggregating the resources of memory, CPU , Network and Storage to create a Large Pool of resources.

I hope i answer your Question.

Hi ULY,

That does answer my question, I think.

I did some research, and had concluded that a cluster is different from a resource pool because the cluster is a group of servers all set up to work toward the same purpose, where the resource pool is more just a big group of resources. Kind of like the cluster is a car with its parts (servers) already assembled to go somewhere, and the resource pool is a big scrapyard (with memory, CPU, network, and storage parts lying around) that can be used to build a car that meets your own needs.

It sounds like this consistent with your answer - let me know if I'm wrong, or if more detail is needed!

Hi caroline,

yes, your right.

Another thing- Using resource Pool will maximize the utilization of a resources. Traditionally if you dont have virtualization 90 to 95% of a server was under utilize. that's why there are server sprawl. anyway its onther topic.

thanks.

Take care.
