Inspiron 3542 Keeps beeping and not running after Windows Update
When I bought this laptop, I had issues with the speaker, I send it to be repaired but they said that that's how it is working.
I never imagine Dell laptops are so stupid.
So now it keeps beeping. 3 beeps. And this happens after upgrading stupid Windows. How is this even possible?
I tried to remove the battery and bios battery, but nothing works. It just beeps 3 times, black screen.
Are Dell laptops so bad build that they don't have any protection at all? If Microsoft decides to break my Dell laptop they can just do it?
What kind of laptop is this one?
From what I read it might be the motherboard a chip or something like this. ... I can't believe this happened after a single Windows update. Of course, the warranty has expired.
I also bought a new RAM to check and see if that's the issue but it isn't
So any help is appreciated.

Hi iulianbv:
The support article Understanding Beep Codes on a Dell Notebook PC indicates that 3 beeps during a POST (power-on self-test) code indicates a problem with the motherboard or chipset, including a time-of-day clock test failure. When you say you "tried to remove the battery and bios battery", did you actually install a fresh CMOS battery? See "Replacing the Coin-Cell Battery" on page 61 of the Inspiron 3542 user manual <here> for instructions. You should also read the ComputerOfHope article How to Replace the CMOS Battery, which warns that you should always take the proper precautions when working inside your computer [e.g., grounding yourself with a ESD (electrostatic discharge) wrist strap] to prevent damage to the motherboard.
The support article Understanding Beep Codes on a Dell Notebook PC includes a link to Resolve Hardware Issues With Integrated and Online Diagnostics (SupportAssist ePSA, ePSA, or PSA Error Codes) that explains how to run the appropriate hardware diagnostic depending on whether you are able to boot into the operating system or not. If you cannot boot into the operating system and the on-board ePSA diagnostics confirms you have a problem with your motherboard then replacing the RAM and/or other hardware components is not going to solve your issue.
If your warranty has expired then your laptop must be more than one year old, and most of the information I've found about the Inspiron 3542 indicates this model was released in 2014 and shipped from the factory with 64-bit Windows 8.1. When did you purchase this laptop and what is the current operating system? When you say that this problem "happened after a single Windows update" do you mean that you were trying to perform a Windows upgrade (e.g., from Win 8.1 to Win 10) or Win 10 version update (e.g., from v20H2 to v21H1)?
According to the Drivers & Downloads tab on the support page <here> for the Inspiron 15 3542 there was a Dell Inspiron 3442/3542/5748 System BIOS version A16 firmware update released on 24-Sep-2020 but most of the certified hardware drivers for the Inspiron 3542 (e.g., audio and graphics drivers, Intel chipset, etc.) have not been updated on that support page for more than three years. Did Windows Update recently install any newer graphics drivers or other driver updates that are not certified by Dell for the Inspiron 3542?
