Inspiron 5400 completely bugged out, now I need another computer to fix it?
I am so frustrated.
I open my laptop (less than six months old) the other morning and it’s completely glitching out- registering five or six touch points when nothing is touching the screen, closing in and out of browsers by itself, won’t let me use the mouse or touch screen, etc.
I get on the phone with tech support and we go through all the motions, only to be stopped from doing a complete wipe because of me not having a BitLocker recovery key. They say the key should be uploaded to my Microsoft account- okay, well, it isn’t. Their only solution is to say I must have a different Microsoft account it’s uploaded to- well, no, I made a Microsoft account specifically for this laptop.
so without the key, they’re saying I need to have access to a separate computer and a flash drive to fix this. I don’t have another computer- I have this one. How is it my fault that software I had nothing to do with (BitLocker was automatically installed on my laptop from what I’m seeing) is failing to upload a key to my account? I paid for premium support and they can’t do anything to fix my computer unless I rent another computer or go to the library and use theirs? This is ridiculous.
