Linux Host cant see VMAX Array
Hi Guys,
I am having problem in discovering VMAX in 2 of my linux hosts.2 Arrays has been zoned with the hosts. It can see the DMX-4 but it cant see the VMAX Array. The array microcode is 5874 and we are using the RHEL 4.
I can see the Hosts HBA logged in to the VMAX array.Solution Enabler 7.3 is installed and after issuing symcfg discover command it can see only the DMX-4,not the VMAX.Is there any specific port flag setting required for linux hosts to be connected to VMAX.Right now only the D Bit is set in the initiator group level for the hosts.
Any suggestion guys???Do i need to change any linux config files for this?????

was the system rebooted after it was zoned to VMAX or at least try to rescan HBAs ?
echo "1" > /sys/class/fc_host/host0/issue_lip
echo "- - -" > /sys/class/scsi_host/host0/scan
echo "1" > /sys/class/fc_host/host1/issue_lip
echo "- - -" > /sys/class/scsi_host/host1/scan
where host0 and host1 represent your HBAs

Hi Dynamox,
Thanks for the reply. The host was rebooted several times but no results. We are issuing hp_rescan -a which actually scans all the devices within the hosts.
Let me know if you have any other suggestions.

look for dmx_series_support_matrix , P/N 300-000-166. You might need SC3 and SPC2 at the least.

Hi, Do you try to change this flags over FAs for Linux
Common_Serial_Number(C) : Enabled
Disable_Q_Reset_on_UA(D) : Enabled
SCSI_3(SC3) : Enabled
SPC2_Protocol_Version(SPC2) : Enabled
