Hi

Are you looking to replicate these on to thin devices?

Why not use storage vmotion ? This way the VM's can stay online and you don't waste time with getting the new LUN's online and the VM's working.

I concur with RRR's suggestion. Since you would have to resignature the LUN on the ESX hosts and may need to re-import the VMs into the cluster inventory it would be much easier if you just mask new LUNs to the cluster and storage vMotion the VMs over a few at a time. Online migration FTW.

I know storage VMotion is one option but there are 100 VM's on each server so i wanna go with OR(hot push) .Can someone confirm that if i use OR do i have to re-signature the disks.

Thanks

you have to use resignature regardless of block level replication/copy technology. Search this paper for "signature"

Ok, I can think of 1 disadvantage:

with OR you might only have to migrate 5 or 10 LUN's where you need to VMotion 100 VM's.

I't only 100 VM's ! Online, no configuring (and buying !!!!) OR, what other motivation do you need ?
