SRDF sync delay and port bounce fixes it.
2000S-M2(both source and target)
V6.2.0.0
HP-UX 11.11
from current "symstat -ra all"
DIRECTOR IO/sec Cache Requests/sec % RW KB/sec
18:13:33 Remote READ WRITE RW Hits rcvd+sent
18:13:33 RE-7A 4 0 0 0 N/A 89
RE-7D 3 0 0 0 N/A 67
------ ------ ------ ------ --- ----------
Total 7 0 0 0 N/A 156
We have some script which runs periodically and sync the SRDF . The following "symrdf -g p760_data -bcv query" stayed in syncinprogress for almost a day and got synchronzied as soon as we bounce(offline/online) the RA/RF port. (Note that this a SRDF from a BCV copy which suppose to get synced every four hours)
BCV016* 054D RW 0 68449 RW 0C8B WD 0 0 S.. SyncInProg
BCV017* 055D RW 0 71235 RW 0C9B WD 0 0 S.. SyncInProg
Also i could see that after the bounce the "symstat -ra all "returns a five digit total. ( during the problem the total was three digit). Also note that we have three databases which syncs this way and all of them were in the status till the prt bounce. This is a repeated incident now.
BCV016* 054D RW 0 0 RW 0C8B WD 0 0 S.. Synchronized
BCV017* 055D RW 0 0 RW 0C9B WD 0 0 S.. Synchronized
What could lead to this situation? Any network/WAN perforamnce issue contributing to this? My concern is if there is a reall WAN issue how the swich port bounce help. So i hesitate to go with WAN issue at this moment( i dont have a statitics at the network level at this moment)

"symstat -type ISCSI -i 5 -c 5 -sid -rdf_nw_comp -RE -IP "
Looks like rdf_nw_comp not supported. I use symci V6.2.0.0. and microcode of sym is 5671.
