VMAX 10K Health Check fails on Environmentals Test
I have a VMAX10K that always fails the Environmentals Test part of the Health Check. I would like to know what the Environmentals Test is checking for. All of the other parts pass green, I just want to be able to login into Unisphere for VMAX and see that part green instead of ignoring red. I have ran a symcli command(see below) to check the events, but all I saw was where a drive failed last year.
>symevent list -v -all
Symmetrix ID: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Time Zone : Central Daylight Time
Event at Thu Jan 30 09:42:03 2014:
Reporting Director : DF-2B
Source : Symmetrix
Category : Disk
Severity : Error
Numeric Code : 0x0078
Event Code Symbol : MIRROR_WD
Description : A Symmetrix device has a member or a mirror that is Write Disabled
any thoughts?

I am curious as well, as I have a new-out-of-the-box VMAX 10K with the issue:

It will verify that internal environmental components status (power supplies, blowers, batteries, etc.) also verifies that the battery test reported no errors.

How we know which one of the internal environmental components failed?

Dial home would have generated and PSE lab will look in to the issue.
Also if the alerts have been configured then you will get notification.
check if there any Service Request opened for this frame? Else contact the PSE lab for further analysis.

We do have dial home configured, but we had drives failed and other issues before EMC would contact us. I just opened a Service Request just to find out for sure what is going on. What is the PSE lab? I have ran the following command and things appear to be normal
C:\Windows\system32>symcfg -sid XXX list -env_data
Symmetrix ID : XXXXX
Timestamp of Status Data : 04/13/2015 11:04:02

PSE looked into the issue and noticed in the environmental test is reporting a missing cable for the light pipe assembly for the system bay. We have our VMAX 10K installed in a 3rd party rack. They also said there is not a way to stop the check on the symmetrix side.
I submitted a SR to the Unisphere support group and we see how it goes.
Karl,
Is your VMAX in a 3rd party rack?

You meant to say that the system bay door LED issue?

Very likely. It is looking for something that is not there.

Exactly, because VMAX has installed on 3rd party rack as you said earlier.
Can i have the EMC Service request number? which you opened against this issue.
There is a workaround for this issue, local team can help you on this

No - our VMAX 10K is in a standard rack. I've opened an SR as well, to have the fault isolated.

There are some steps to be followed, That will be taken care by EMC engineers.
You can check the log notes in the service request which you opened for further details.

This could be the cabling issue with the Door LED.

If you run the below command, you will be able to identify which part of the Box does have problem :
#symcfg -sid XXXX list -env_data -v | more Or
#symcfg -sid XXXX list -env_data -v | grep | Degraded

This event which you have pasted may not be relevant right now. It's date is Sep 2014, but the other one should be related to either Service Processor or Battery or may be Script Error on SP. Try to look at the SR-logs will get a clear picture.
Thnx
