A few questions about the Performance Monitoring Agent

Firstly, these are all Windows servers, mix of 2000 and 2003, various editions. When you go to Device Details in IT Assistant v8.0.1, why is it that some servers do not show the Performance Monitoring Agent under the Software Agent Information section? Is it not installed with OpenManage Server Administrator? On the ones that do have it installed, there are some where the Global Status for the Performance Monitoring Agent shows up as a grey question mark (?), and for these servers, it is not collecting statistics for our performance monitoring task. In the Performance Monitoring section, under the tasks Execution Logs for these servers there are several messages (repeated each time the task runs) saying: 'Data not available for one or more instance(s) of the counter(s) ....' The help file says that this means the 'This error is displayed when the performance monitoring data is not available or not supported on the target device.' Any ideas on how to resolve this? Would I need to re-install OMSA on each of the affect servers? Thanks

Open Manage Server Administrator does not have any performance agent I think. IT Assistant uses the Windows OS features to collect the information and I believe the agent refered to is a psuedo agent (no agent is  physically present on the systems being managed). The  performance agent appears only if those servers are monitored for perfomance , other wise they will not be shown by IT Assistant, I do not think you would need to reinstall the Server Administrator's on those machines  The disk performance counters are by default turned off in the W2K systems, so that might be a reason for the error messages in the performance execution logs
