BIOS update issues with IPMI

Hi, I keep getting an DUP error when trying to update my BIOS on my R720. Here's a couple events from my event viewer. If anyone has any insight on what to look at, it would be greatly appreciated. I do have an exclamation point by my Microsoft Generic IPMI Compliant Device in my Device Manager. It says The device cannot start (code 10). A device which does not exist was specified.

The IPMI device driver attempted to communicate with the IPMI BMC device during device creation. However the communication failed due to a timeout. Either the configured timeouts are too small and the IPMI BMC device responses take longer than the timeouts or the BMC has a technical fault. You can increase the timeouts associated with the IPMI device driver or seek assistance from the BMC device manufacturer.

The description for Event ID 1 from source Update Package: BIOS cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

Hello

It sounds like the iDRAC/BMC is not working properly. You should troubleshoot the iDRAC/BMC instead of the DUP update issue.

Thanks

Would you have any specific recommendations? We do have iDRAC disabled on our R720 asset. Thanks, Kendall

Use a method that doesn't require the iDRAC/BMC. IPMI and RACADM will use the iDRAC/BMC.
