Hi
I am haing trouble launching the SUUlauncher file of the
Dell OpenManage Server
Update Utility version 14.03.00
This is on Server 2012 R2 STD.
The utility quickly pops up and then disappears never to be seen again. These are newly loaded machines.

Glad to hear it is running. It can take awhile, depending on how out of date the system is. Where is the progress bar now? How many percent till completion?

Hi
I use the hardware support portal and entered the server's service tag. I did not burn the iso, but did extract it to a local folder on the server. from there i launched the suu app with admin priviledges. This now works. Initially i only mounted it, which was obviously the cause of the problems initially. However, now the server update utility windows is displayed with a progress bar running across the screen. this has been going for over 20 minutes already. does this take long usually?
Thanks
Karl

Kschyff,
Is this the link you used to download the ISO from? http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=7WJ8M&fileId=3362565951&osCode=W12R2&productCode=poweredge-r820&languageCode=EN&categoryId=SM
If so, what is the speed you used for burning the ISO, or was it just mounted? Also, are you trying to run this locally or remotely as well? If remote are you connecting with console level access or just session?
Let me know.

Hi
I took this screenshot this morning. It was still running. The machine definitely
has internet access, I checked that.
Thanks

Hi Kschyff,
Thanks a lot for your post and other details.
Could you please share the Setup details for further analysis and in between could you please download the fresh image of SUU 14.03.00 from below mentioned location & try to launch SUU once again.
Direct download link for SUU v14.03.00.

Kschyff,
After downloading the fresh copy, if you have Idrac Enterprise, could you access the Dracs web interface and then mount the SUU ISO via the Virtual Media and then remotely run the ISO from the Remote Console? I am curious if the way you are trying to run it may be an issue.

It seems it was a combination of how I was accessing it and the version I downloaded. Once I downloaded and extracted the direct download version it worked.
Thanks
