Configuring Dell UPS Management Agent from cli

I've installed the Dell UPS management software on our Linux servers and now have the agents running.

I can successfully connect to the agents using the Dell UPS management software gui from a remote management workstation but with read only access, I can't configure them.

I know I have to enable remote management and can see where this is done from the gui, however the Linux servers do not (and will never) have a gui installed.

How do I configure the agent on the Linux servers from the cli to accept remote management?

Thanks in advance.

Having phoned Dell support, I was advised to use Cuimanager, but I believe this only works if you have the Dell Network Management card installed in your ups.

Finally I was forced to install a minimal X Windows environment, then run the UPS management gui so I could check the accept remote management checkbox and change the password etc. I then uninstalled X windows again.

This solution is less than ok for a one off, but its really not going to be practical if I buy any more of these UPS's from Dell. Does anyone have a more elegant solution to this problem? Failing that I will have to stick with APC ups's in future as I did in the past.

Ant,

Please refer to the following document that discusses configuration and installation.

I will recommend the user guide and the product quick notes, which has some scenarios.
