DRAC 5 console error (Login Failed, Channel in use)

Question

hi, i am new into this business and i would really appreciate your help.

before i updated the DRAC 5 firmware from 1.33 to 1.6, i was able to open the drac 5 console. however after the update, i m no more able to connect to the console and it gives an error, LOGIN FAILED, CHANNEL IN USE. can anyone help me solve this problem? thanks

Hello James

The issue appears to be with the browser trying to connect using old settings that are stored locally. I found an internal article related to this exact issue. Here is a copy/paste of the article:

First clear the cache on the browser. This should ressolve the issue.
If this fails then check the following:
Close all IE sessions
Go to c:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files
Right click on 'session viewer' and click remove
Right click on 'rac5vm control' and click remove
Clear out your browsing cache again.
