yes, you can remove the CMC from the FX2 chassis without powering down or disconnecting the FC630 blades. The blades will continue to operate normally, as they are not directly dependent on the CMC for runtime operation. However, you will lose management capabilities (e.g., power control, monitoring, firmware updates) until the CMC is reinserted or replaced.
The CMC is hot-swappable. You can safely remove and reinsert it while the chassis and blades are powered on. Just ensure you wait a few seconds before reinserting or replacing it to allow the system to register the change.
If the CMC is unresponsive via both network and serial, try reseating it first. If that doesn’t help, consider replacing it with a known-good unit. Once reinserted, the new or reseated CMC should initialize and regain control of the chassis.
You can reset the CMC at the troubleshooting tab https://dell.to/2Q1iuUy. There is 2 buttons, 1 is reset, another would be reset to factory default. Use the reset to restart the CMC. Try that, and let us know the outcome.
I can not connect to the CMC on my FX2S by IP address or Serial port. Can I remove the CMC from the FX2 chassis without the Blade FC630 being disconnected?

Thanks for all the suggestions, I will note that.
It seems it started working by itself 15 minutes later. There must be a built in watchdog timer or something to reboot its web interface.
I'm in it today completing the bios updates as needed for my 4 ESXi server blades in this chassis. I'm also in our other FX2 chassis no problem.

Can you try SSH to CMC IP. If you able to login to CMC using SSH you can run racadm racreset in SSH to reset CMC

CMC's light will go orange then blue constantly? What can possibly be the issue and how to resolve it?
