Dell OMSA 7.0.0 Page Cannot Be Displayed

So one of my clients has a PE2900 whose OMSA 6.5 bombed out a couple months ago. I started getting a "Page cannot be displayed" error when opening it. I thought perhaps a reboot would sort it, but it did not. We then decided to uninstall 6.5 and upgrade to the latest version, 7.0.0. After doing this last week, it still is getting the "page cannot be displayed" error. I have ensured the services are running, and have restarted them each to no avail. Is there perhaps something jacked up in the registry that could be causing this? Does anyone have official Dell instructions on how to fully, manually remove OMSA? I'd like to remove it again via Add/Remove, and then also remove all the registry keys and try to install fresh after a reboot. Thanks!

Thanks for the tip, what exactly does that program do? Clean up older OM version remnants?

After you uninstall it, you can try running C:\Openmanage\support\OMClean\OMClean.exe to remove OM remnants.

Thank you for the reply! I did what you said; ensured the services were all Started, and opened up OMSA webpage. Changed the URL to https://localhost:1311, but I can already see by hovering the mouse over the "Continue to this website" link that it's going to direct me to "res://ieframe.dll/"

When I click the link to Continue, I still get the IE cannot display the webpage error. Perhaps the res://ieframe.dll/ will tell you something more?? Thanks again!

omclean is a utility that cleans up OMSA fragments after an uninstall.  DO NOT run it while OMSA still shows up in Add/Remove Programs.  However, if you've reinstalled OMSA, the services are running, and you still get the Page Cannot Be Displayed error, try https://localhost:1311 in the Address bar of a browser from the server itself.  Most likely OMSA is working fine but you are having some kind of browser or firewall problem.

I edited my post to reflect what was intended - after you UNinstall OM, then you can use OMClean (had unintentionally left of the "un" on uninstall).  Thanks Jeff.

EDIT: nevermind I found it on another extraction of OMSA 7.0. Odd that they include it with the latest version, even though that article I found that it "supposedly" isn't compatible with it??

Also, OMClean is not located in C:\openmanage\support. Perhaps because it's not supported with the newer versions, and that's why it's not installed? Any other suggestions? Is OMClean a standalone program that someone could email me?

I had planned on trying OMClean on this server this week to try and get OMSA working again, but I found this from Dell that says OMClean is NOT to be used with newer versions of OMSA

http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/kcs/document?c=us&l=en&s=gen&docid=DSN_FDEF3CE9F935F04FE030030ABD6206B2&isLegacy=true

Has anyone successfully used OMClean with newer versions? I just want to get this working again. OMSA 6.5 It broke a few months ago and started giving the Page Cannot be Displayed error. Even after installing 7.0 over the top of it, error persists. I'd like to be able to fully uninstall and then start from scratch with the latest version.

Well, turned out to be an issue with IE and OMSA. I used Firefox portable and pasted the URL in there and it is working fine. Thanks IE! :)

Wow, so I'm just appalled at this. I uninstalled OMSA from the Control Panel > Programs and Features. I then ran OMClean twice. I installed OMSA 7.0.0 with default options, yet I STILL get the Page Cannot be Displayed error when opening OMSA website.

Anyone? This is beyond me. I've used OMSA on probably 20 servers and I have never seen anything like this.
