HI,

Thanks a lot for your post.

Could you please download the Dell Server Update Utility from Dell Support site to update the system BIOS and firmware.

Please find the below mentioned direct download link for Dell Server Update Utility.

http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=RTDW0

Just burn the ISO or Extract the ISO image on local share and provide the share location details inside LC to update the System BIOS and firmware.

Hope it’s helpful :emotion-1:

Thanks,

Amit

The ISO won't fit even on a DL DVD.

I tried putting it on a USB HD but the lifecycle controller wouldnt load.

I'll try a network share but that can be difficult for me to access on our network because the server is not on the domain and I cannot add it

I tried the ISO but it does not seem to be compatible.  I think because there is not "catalog" file.

I read that I should try repository manager, but it always fails while it is downloading for some reason.

Then I read about the "Depricated" process which looks like what my controller is looking for.  It says to use the content file off the FTP.  Then use "Content manager" to download the updates I need.  Well, when I run "Content manager", it gets to the part where I select windows or linux and the platform, but its blank.  Therefore I can't download the packages.  The package names on the FTP don't seem to match the names used on the DVD.  It will read the catalog file though, it just fails on download.

Hi,

Thanks a lot for your post.

If your are downloaded the Dell Server Update Utility .ISO image from Dell support side, could you please extract the ISO and collect the catalog.xml file from the repository folder and open the file to get the supported DUP details for your platform.

As per details collect the DUP from repository folder and put DUP and catalog.xml file in USB drive.

Connect the USB drive with system and provie the USB drive details inside LC for component update.

Hope it's going to resolve your problem.

Thanks,

Amit

I managed to update the lifecycle controller via the iDRAC web interface.  Then the ftp site seemed to start working so I was able to update everything.
