Dell combo driver cab question

Hi, I was wondering if the drivers from a combo cab can be added to a supported desktop or laptop system so I can capture and deploy this image to other model of Dell systems( Optiplex 380, 390, and 780), so I do not have to create three separate images for each system model. I do not have SCCM. I would be deploying the WIM image via a USB hard drive that boots to WinPE 3.0. I am just not sure of the best way to extract the combo cab drivers properly to my base system.

Thanks,
Ryan

Right now we are transitioning to SCCM, but for the past few years we have been utilizing Ghost to deploy images with sysprep and a utility called dpinst to pull driver files from a network share during sysprep.

We were previously extracting the Dell driver .cab files in our source directory and this worked great. It would be easy to have it pull them off of your USB drive as well as long as you know the drive letter it will receive.

You can find some info about dpinst here http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff544842%28v=vs.85%29.aspx

Hope that helps!
