We do all of our device discovery via Netview and use that to feed our other network management systems. When scheduling a Device Discovery in DELL's NM software it is possible to specify a file containing IP addresses. However, the user has to manually click the Add button to have this file read in. We would like the file to be automatically read in at the time the job is scheduled to run. This would allow us to completely automate device discovery.
I'd like to see a new group created by default called e.g. Device Administrators that has the exact same rights that Administrators have except no accces for Manage Permissions. Basically a group of really powerful users who just cannot e.g. create new users. The reason I ask is we have a seperate group that manages the management software. So creating users, etc. is a function of that group, not the actuall networking teams. To put it another way, managing the application is different from managing the network devices.
