Error UEFI0082 and ASR0001

Hello,

We have a R730xd, recently we have installed Oracle Linux 7.9 and updated BIOS (2.13.0) and iDRAC (2.80.80.80).

The problem is that every time I reboot the system, I get the error UEFI0082, pressing F1 allows me to continue and boot the OS.

In the BIOS the watchdog option is disabled.

Greetings.

Hello ASCS1,

Did you have another operating system installed before Oracle Linux 7.9?

Was this system working previously and now is not? If so; has anything changed from then to now other than OS?

Do you see anything in the DRAC on the System Event Log or LifeCycle Controller log that may give more detail?

How about the OS dump logs : https://dell.to/3xFKfSy

I'd recommend make sure all components are updated on firmware and driver. iDRAC I see is up to 2.81.81.81 .

Also run the built in diagnostics, directions below.

If issue continues; bring it down to minimum to post components and test. If no error put things back a little at a time until you find the faulting component.

Support page for R730XD for drivers and firmware:

Diagnostics:

Boot to  F11 on Dell Splash screen, selecting  Boot Manager -> System Utilities -> Launch Dell Diagnostics.  Note any messages and continue testing.

Minimum to POST

The minimum components to allow the Dell™ PowerEdge™ R730/R730xd to complete POST are as follows:

System board

One power supply unit

One processor (CPU) in socket CPU1

One memory module (DIMM) installed in socket A1

Left control panel (for power button functionality)

One backplane card
