How - 2 needed for R410 updates

Bought a R410 to practice some server technologies such as .NET Core, Docker and VM's.
Updated the BIOS no problem.
Installed Server 2019 with zero issues.
Nice!  Problem is the fans - sounds like I'm mining bitcoin and is a huge distraction.  Seriously - at work we have 3 servers in a rack and they're nowhere near as loud as this thing.
Used Google-Fu and it seems to be a general consensus to update the BMC and or IDRAC.
So I configure IDRAC and connect.  It refuses everything I throw at it as not being compatible.
I loaded the Windows installers and tried executing them - same story.
I'm struggling to understand why it's saying that since the readme and such clearly say the machine is supported.  The OS shouldn't have diddly to do with firmware sorts of updates.
The BMC_FRMW_WIN_R234180.EXE says "The update package is not compatible with your system configuration".
How can that be?  I thought it was integral.  Tried running Dell_Lifecycle_Controller_Integration_3.3.0_for_Configuration_Manager which has both IDRAC and BMC and it complains about not having the Configuration Manager Administration Console installed.  Everything I've looked at indicates this is IDRAC - so what the heck do I do here?  IDRAC is installed and I can connect to it over the network.
Some real circular Catch-22 stuff going on here.

The issue is likely due to running the DUP in the wrong place. The easiest thing to do here would be to run this from the server OS or on a workstation. After you run it and extract the files, then locate firmimg.d6 in those extracted files, copy to USB and then run that in the Lifecycle Controllers Update tab.

Let me know how it goes.

I opened BMC_FRMW_WIN_R234180.EXE with WinRAR and found it in the payload.
So you're saying I just need to use this file inside IDRAC to upgrade?

I provided the names of the Dell upgrades I tried and they are EXE's that do not extract anything that is visible.
I also stated that I did copy to the server and tried executing from there as well.
If there are other files I should be trying I'd love to have links to them!

Hi

Could you please attempt the below based on the instructions in the download page.

Extract Files

1. Browse to the location where you downloaded the file and double-click the new file to unzip the download package.
2. Specify the location to unzip the files.
3. Click on the unzip button to extract files.

Additional Instructions

MS-DOS Version
1. copy the firmware image file, firmimg.d6, the DOS executable, bmcfwud.exe, and config file, bmcfwu.cfg, to a bootable USB key/floppy in the same directory.
2. boot off this media and execute "bmcfwud.exe" from the directory where the firmware image file exists. "-i" option can be used to specify the exact image path if not in the same directory.
3. Reboot the system to the same media as prompted.
4. Execute "bmcfwud.exe" again to complete the firmware update.
5. Reboot the system

Thanks

Vivek
