IT Assistant 8.4 - timeout problem...
Just upgraded my IT assistant (from 8.3) to 8.4. When I try to login in, I get the following error:
"The session has expired. Log in again.
You can configure the session timeout via Preferences (Web server Properties) from the top navigation bar. If you still see this error; see the online help for more information."
Thing is that when I click on "OK" it brings me to sign on screen and no "preferences" displayed on navigation. Neither can I go there without clicking OK.
Any thoughts?? I am runing Java 1.6 release 11 (as installed by the OpenManage install), WIndows Vista, IE7
I just uniinstalled and went back to 8.3 - know I have the same problem with that version - which worked fine before I tried to upgrade - any thoughts??
SOLVED: Disable IPv6 via registry...

Do a search on Dell's site for OpenManage Management Station 6.01 - it is included with that...

Try this:
Perform the following steps:
1 Click the Start button. Point to Settings→ Control Panel→ Java.
2 In the Java tab, click View in the Java Applet Runtime Settings section.
3 Pass these parameters to the Java Runtime Parameters:
-Djava.net.preferIPv6Addresses=True -Xmx256m
