ITA & SQL Server 2005 Express

I'm attempting to install ITA on a PC that has SQL Server Express 2005 installed. When I installed SQL Express, I took all the defaults. I'm getting the following warnings during the ITA install: IT Assistant does not support a nondefault instance of Microsoft(R) SQL Server . To continue with the installation, either install a default instance of Microsoft SQL Server , or uninstall the nondefault instance of Microsoft SQL Server . Ensure that Microsoft(R) SQL Server or Microsoft SQL 2005 Express services are not corrupt and can start. The SQL Server Express service is running. Any ideas?

While installing SQL Express 2005, you should uncheck the "Hide Advanced options" checkbox. Then select default instance in the next step of the wizard. This will install the default instance, which willl be supported by ITA.

Thank you. That did the trick.

Is there any way to correct this without reinstalling express? I have existing
databases

Thanks

Re-install SQL express with default instance. You will not lose the databases of named instances.

Must you keep the SQL db on the local server? I would like to connect the db to an already existing sql db on a different server. Is this possible?
